Four island languages, from Micronesia to the Torres Strait
Chuukese and Pohnpeian are the languages of Chuuk and Pohnpei states in the Federated States of Micronesia. Marshallese is the national language of the Marshall Islands. Meriam Mir, also known as Mer, is spoken in the eastern islands of the Torres Strait in Australia, notably on Murray Island (Mer).
Speakers of these languages also live far from home: in Hawaii, on Guam, on the US mainland, in Australia and, less often, in the UK and Europe. For every request SILA Linguists® looks for a linguist in the language itself, rather than substituting English or a related language.

Our translators work into and out of English on official letters, health forms, school documents and civil status records, respecting the local spelling of personal names and place names. Certified translations carry a signed statement of accuracy accepted by courts, the Home Office, universities and employers in the UK. We also transcribe recordings with time stamps, translate them, and subtitle information videos produced for these communities.
