Türkçe
turTurkish is the most widely spoken Turkic language. It belongs to the Oghuz branch, with Azerbaijani and Turkmen, and is the official language of Turkey and one of the official languages of the Republic of Cyprus. There are long-established Turkish-speaking communities in Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia and Kosovo, and large populations in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, France and the UK.
The standard is based on the speech of Istanbul. Regional dialects in Anatolia, the Black Sea, the Balkans and Cyprus differ in pronunciation and vocabulary, and Cypriot Turkish in particular has its own distinctive features. Standard Turkish is understood throughout these communities.
Turkey is a multilingual country. Many citizens speak Kurdish (mainly Kurmanji), Zazaki, Arabic, Laz or other languages at home. A person with Turkish nationality may prefer an interpreter in one of these languages.

Turkish is the official language of Turkey and one of the official languages of Cyprus, with long-established communities in Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia and Kosovo and large populations in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, France and the UK. SILA Linguists® provides Turkish interpreters, translators and transcribers for courts, police, healthcare providers, manufacturers, property and tourism businesses and conference organisers in Britain, North America, Australia, New Zealand and further afield. Turkey is multilingual, so we also check whether a Turkish national's first language might be Kurdish, Zazaki, Arabic or Laz.
Turkish has a formal and informal 'you', siz and sen, and our Turkish interpreters keep the appropriate level of politeness in a police interview, a courtroom or a consultation. Tell us if the person is from Cyprus or the Balkans, as Cypriot Turkish in particular has distinctive features, and we will match accordingly.
Face-to-face Turkish interpreting covers police stations, magistrates' and crown courts, family proceedings, immigration appointments, hospitals and schools. An on-call Turkish interpreter can join by phone at any hour, and planned video sessions use the SILA Linguists® app or your own platform. For trade fairs, factory audits, board meetings and conferences we supply consecutive, simultaneous and remote simultaneous Turkish interpreters.
Turkish uses a Latin alphabet with ç, ğ, ı, İ, ö, ş and ü, and the dotted and dotless i are separate letters, so systems that change case can corrupt names if handled carelessly. Turkish is agglutinative, and text expands or contracts in translation, which we allow for in layout, subtitles and user interfaces.
We translate birth certificates, population register extracts, marriage and divorce documents, court judgments, title deeds, contracts, technical manuals and product documentation. Certified Turkish translation includes a signed statement of accuracy, accepted by UK authorities such as the Home Office, courts and universities, and by employers. For brands entering the Turkish market we localise websites, software and marketing campaigns, with AI-assisted translation and human post-editing for high-volume content.
We transcribe Turkish police interviews, recorded calls, meetings and media, with time stamps and an English translation, and subtitle Turkish and English video for broadcasters, training providers and businesses. Our transcribers note Cypriot or regional features and any switches into Kurdish, English or German, and they flag unclear words rather than guessing, so the record stands up when it is relied on in court.
Our vetted, trained and qualified Turkish linguists can support courts, police and immigration services, NHS and private healthcare, manufacturing and trade, tourism and property, education and conference organisers. You have one SILA Linguists® project team, and confidentiality agreements and UK GDPR apply on every job.
